Dear Trick or Treat Author...

Hi there! I am kissoffools, and I am so excited about Trick or Treat this year!I love fic exchanges and Halloween, so this is right up my alley.

I'm requesting fic from 6 different canons - most of which I've requested in the past, and never received! I never know how to prompt for art, so I haven't requested it, though I do love it! Promise I'm excited for all of them, even though each fandom's length is different - the curse of "or" exchanges, I'm afraid. I've tried to give prompts for both individual characters and ships - I ship every single duo I've mentioned below, so if you ship it too, go for it! But I'm genuinely interested in the single-character stuff I discussed, too, so go for that if it works for you.

I'm really excited for tricks or treats in any of my fandoms - please feel free to take any of my prompts in either direction. Whatever inspires you! And also, like I said: I love Halloween and autumn. If you'd like to set your story in the fall, or put Halloween details in the background, or turn your fic into a Halloween-themed story? Go for it! I will love it!

Also, I'm totally on board with fics rated G all the way up to E. If you feel like writing smut, please, I would love that! (Anything with a little bit of teasing, dirty talk, or overstimulation is right up my alley.) But I definitely don't need porny fic if it isn't your thing, either.

For the record, I have just a couple strong dislikes: noncon/rape, and scat. I'm also not really into crossovers, crackfic, or non-canon character death. Avoid those things, and I'll be thrilled with whatever you come up with!

BOY MEETS WORLD
Eric Matthews, Jack Hunter
Boy Meets World was a big favourite of mine growing up! I love all of the characters so much. I really do think this is one of the shows that shaped me into who I am today - media like that is so special. I'd love more about Eric and/or Jack - being roommates, getting through school together, graduating and handling the real world. Also, my favourite episode of Boy Meets World is "And Then There Was Shawn" - it's a classic and beloved for a reason! I loved the mix of humour and some genuinely spooky, creepy stuff. If you want to write something in the vein of that episode, with a similar tone, I would absolutely love that!! I'd like the focus to be on Eric and/or Jack, but the other characters are more than welcome to be included. And I definitely ship them, so if you'd like to work in some romance, pining, or smut, I'd be completely on board! (Don't worry about Girl Meets World canon - I've seen bits of the show, but you're more than welcome to include or disregard whatever you like from it.)

Here are some prompts, if you'd like them. Some for Eric, some for Jack, and some for both!

+ Eric. I'd love to see the world through Eric's eyes - I love how he's somehow both incredibly clueless and extremely perceptive. I'd love to watch him grow up and hit some life milestones, like graduation, his first home, a proposal, his wedding. Or I'd love to see Jack through Eric's eyes - how Eric changes from disliking him initially to coming around on him to becoming his best friend.

+ Jack. You could write about Jack's arrival at college - his challenges to adjust to a new home, new city, new school and new brother. I'd love to see him dealing with some sort of crisis. Maybe he's run out of money and something's happened that his stepfather can't send him more, and he's on his own and learning to support himself for the first time? Or you could do the reverse of what I suggested above - seeing Eric through Jack's eyes. How Eric changes Jack into a better person.

+ Eric and Jack, together. What if they're trapped in an elevator together for a whole day? What if they're snowed in somewhere? What if their fight over Rachel winds up being more about each other than anything else? What if one of them is in love and pining and the other just doesn't seem to get any of the hints that get dropped? What if one of them is in danger, and the other has to rescue him?

BUZZFEED: THE TRY GUYS
Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld
I absolutely adore the Try Guys - all four of them! Their videos never fail to cheer me up, and I love that they're all actually really good friends! I find them incredibly charming. I also really love the whole concept of their videos: cute guys who are comfortable enough with themselves to step outside of their comfort zones and experience new or unusual things. Most of all, I love the dynamic between Keith and Zach. They have a lot in common, they're so good to each other, and hell, they aren't shy about saying that they love each other. What could be better than that?! So I'll say right now that while I've only requested Keith and Zach, you are absolutely more than welcome to write fic that includes Ned and Eugene, too. I mean, can you really have fic that doesn't include all four of them?! But I mean, Keith and Zach are my favourites and I love their interactions. Keith is goofy and big-hearted and personable, and Zach is neurotic and nerdy and sarcastic - they're really entertaining together. They get paired up in videos a lot, they hang out and go on lunch dates, and they're a little softer than the other two Try Guys. I'd love Keith- or Zach-focused Try Guys fic, or if you ship them... well then my god, give me Keith/Zach. I will happily take all the Keith/Zach!

I've got some more generic Try Guys prompts, that you can grab and run with, and then some shippy stuff for the two of them. Whatever works for you!

+ Gen Try Guys. Maybe you could take one of their video scenarios - baseball players, raising babies, drag queens, etc - and write an AU where they're actually those things! Zach and Keith (and the others) in their own Drag Race! Zach and Keith co-parenting a real baby and being totally in over their heads! Zach and Keith working at the same strip club! Take it and run with it. Or, hell, come up with a crazy video scenario and stick them in it. How do the four of them navigate a tough shoot?

+ Shippy Zach/Keith. Oh man, I will read all the Zach/Keith. You could still do an AU if you wanted! Strippers who fall in love? You can also go super tropey with it - woke up married, bed sharing, end of the world, road trip, soulmates. Any of that good stuff. Or you could keep things simple and run with some unrequited love. What if Keith is the reason that Zach is perpetually single? (Also - please don't demonize Becky! Feel free to just conveniently ignore her existence if you want to get shippy!)

FULLER HOUSE
Matt Harmon, Steve Hale
I grew up with Full House, and even though it's a super cheesy watch as an adult, I still love a lot of those characters. I was intrigued to see what they'd do with Fuller House once it was announced. And overall, I enjoy it! Sure, sometimes it's a little heavy-handed, but that's pretty consistent with the original. It's great to see where the characters wound up after all these years, and how their lives have changed. And this version of the show brought me something very important: the dynamic of Matt and Steve!! I care very little about their competition for DJ's affections, and I care very much about their bromance and how they wound up totally getting along! Matt and Steve's dynamic is such that if this were a different show, those two would totally wind up together. And really, all I want is more of the two of them! (And by the way - I love DJ, so feel free to write her in wherever you'd like, if it works for you! The rest of the gang is totally welcome as well.)

Here are some prompts, if you want 'em. Some Matt and Steven bff gen, and some shippy stuff!

+ Matt and Steve gen. Playing wingmen for each other! After DJ chooses herself at the end of Season 1, and effectively rejects both of them, the two guys become good friends by the start of Season 2. So give me some of that bonding! Do they go to bars and talk each other up to cute girls? Do they try each others' hobbies? Does Matt dog-sit for Comet Jr Jr? Does Steve offer to help Matt with an old foot injury?

+ Matt and Steve shipped. After Matt and Steve's accidental kiss in Season 1, Matt claims that the kiss was bad because he wasn't even trying. Do they try again? Does Matt want to prove to Steve that he's not a bad kisser, after all? And hey, at the beginning of Season 2, Matt and Steve both announce that they've found wonderful people to date. What if they announced that it was each other, just like Stephanie predicted? How would the whole Fuller House clan take the news? What would Season 2 have looked like if Matt and Steve had been dating? (Also, the gen prompts could totally be a jumping off point for something shippy, if you want. I really am easy to please!)

JANE THE VIRGIN
Jane Villanueva, Michael Cordero Jr
Jane the Virgin is one of my favourite shows running right now, and I love Jane. I love her so so much! I love that she's flawed but that she tries to do the right thing, and that all of her problems are so human. I love her relationship with Xiomara and Alba, and the challenges she comes up against as she's learning how to be a mom. And her relationship with Rogelio is the greatest, of course! So if you want to write just Jane, or with her family, please do so! And I think Michael is so interesting - this guy who has a bit of a checkered past, but who cleaned up and became a cop. He's fun and has a good heart, but he has flaws, too - he gets jealous and petty sometimes. If you want to write his BFF adventures with Rogelio, that would be amaaaazing. But... oh, Jane and Michael. Jane and Michael. I love them so much, and I'm so heartbroken about his death and that we won't have any more stories of the two of them. So please, please, give me more Michael and Jane! I think he's so good for her - he knows her, and he works hard to do the right thing that will be good for her and Mateo. Their relationship always felt so real to me - they weren't perfect and they fought, but they worked things out and they were always stronger for it in the end. I just love the way they loved each other, you know? I just want more of that. (And like I said, I love literally everyone on that show, so include whoever you'd like! Just please no Rafael-pining-for-Jane. I love Raf and Jane's co-parenting and how they relate when he isn't all in love with her!)

I have some solo Jane and solo Michael stuff here, and then some stuff for them as a couple! Whatever you'd like to do. :)

+ Solo Jane. Give me more of Jane's history! The show is so good about showing us flashbacks and Jane at different stages of life, so I'd love to see more of that. Show me some more of her dating foibles in high school, or a crisis of faith, or one of the times when she has to step up and be the parent for Xiomara. Or you could write Jane and Rogelio getting up to hijinks - surely there's some sort of Halloween mishap they could get themselves into! Or a tough moment with her and Mateo, and how they get through it.

+ Solo Michael. Show me how he had to change and shape himself to become the guy we meet at the beginning of the show - the one Jane fell in love with. Or take the story forward and give me BFF times with Rogelio! Maybe there are Halloween hijinks for them! Or, if you want to do death fix-it fic, PLEASE do so!! What if we had the three year time skip, but Michael lived through it? What would things look like then? Would we still have Zen Rafael and the awesome parenting relationship he has with Jane? Would Rogelio and Xo have gotten back together? What would Mateo be like if he'd had Michael in his life all this time?

+ Jane and Michael together. More stories from Michael and Jane's dating past! Anything about the two of them before Rafael and Petra came into their lives. What problems did they have back then? What cute things happened? What was Michael's first dinner with the Villanueva women like? Or hell, move forward and give Michael and Jane a baby - one of their own. Her pregnancy, him finding out he's going to be a dad, all of that. I'd love to see them going through that as a team. And you could always write about Mateo's first Halloween, too, and what it's like for Jane and Michael to navigate together! Does Rogelio try and force a crazy costume on them? What if Mateo gets lost trick or treating??

SCREAM (TV)
Audrey Jensen
I devoured the Scream TV series when I first watched it last year! I'm a fan of the original series, and I liked the show a lot as well - I thought it handled the slasher genre pretty well, and I liked a lot of the characters. It's just good, pulpy, Halloween-y fun, you know? I'm dying for fic for the series - especially fic centered around Audrey! I thought she was so interesting - she's darker than most of the main characters, and I like her complexities. I like the way she had ties to Piper and the anger that tends to bottle up inside her and fuel her; however, I also like that she's loyal. I like her dynamics with Emma, Brooke, and Noah, so fic involving either of those three as well would be awesome. I'd love any inclusion of any of them! I also really like that the TV show and the movies seem to be separate - I'd rather not have a crossover with the movies.

Here are some prompts, if you are so inclined. There's some stuff for solo Audrey, and then some stuff for Audrey written with Emma, Brooke, or Noah - whatever floats your boat!

+ Pre-series Audrey. She was so angry with Emma that she accidentally summoned a serial killer to their town! What was Audrey like back then? What was her dynamic with Piper when she came to Lakewood? How much did Audrey really know about the Lakewood murders in season one? I have a hard time believing that she didn't even suspect Piper's involvement. What if Audrey had more of a part in season one than we were lead to believe?

+ Audrey with Emma. I ship them so hard, oh man. The fact that Audrey was in love with Emma, and that she brought Piper there partially because of her romantic pain... I eat that up with a spoon. If you wanted to write shipfic for them, I would love that. How are they after season two? Do they get together? Is it really simple and sweet, or does something scary or life-threatening happen that makes Emma realize her feelings are more than platonic? What was Audrey's angst like back then? What was it like for Audrey to realize she'd inadvertently almost caused Emma's death?

+ Audrey with Brooke. I think they're great opposites and you could really have fun with them! The scene with the two of them talking at Brooke's party in the season one finale, where they're kind of flirting, definitely made me want more of them. What if something happened between them at that party, while they were both drinking, before being interrupted by the killer? What if Brooke continues to come to Audrey to help her out of sticky situations, because she knows Audrey's the only one that won't look down on her for her dark side? What if they're sneaking around behind Emma's back, because telling her will be too difficult?

+ Audrey with Noah. I love their friendship, even when they're not being super nice to each other because hey, high school is like that sometimes. Want to write an AU where Bisexual and the Virgin really do fight crime? Go for it! Or you could explore the aftermath of their threeway kiss with Zoe (which, let's be real here, was excellent) - how do Noah's feelings complicate things with their friendship? What if they did decide to experiment? How does Audrey deal with her guilt or feelings of stress after almost losing Noah in season two?

SUPERSTORE (TV)
Amy Dubanowski, Jonah Simms
I think Superstore is so much fun! I really like all of the characters, and the way the show portrays the quirks and hellscape of working in retail is so painfully true. The show always makes me smile. And I love, love, love Amy and Jonah! I love their dynamic - how she's more serious and he's more goofy, and how he wants to impress her but also completely has her back. I like the way he encourages her to let loose and how she holds him accountable. And, I mean... you're not offering this fandom and these two if you don't ship them, right?! They're so perfect for each other! I love the way the show is writing them - I'm eating their slow burn up with a spoon, because I have a feeling that when they finally do get together, it's going to be written perfectly. I can't wait. But in the meantime: fic!

Here are some Amy/Jonah prompts! If you don't want to write shipfic - which is totally your call! - I'd love to see a Halloween at Cloud 9. The costumes, people not wanting to be there because they have other plans, stuff like that! But if you do want to write Amy/Jonah....

+ Shipfic! Give me all the unrequited love! Let me watch Jonah pine over Amy because he can't have her. Let me watch Amy's realization that her feelings for Jonah are more serious than she realized at the end of last season. What if Jonah gets himself into a situation, and Amy has to defend or stick up for him, for once? What if Amy needs Jonah's help and he steps up, like he always has? What if booze leads to a night of initial regrets, and a realization of feelings? Or maybe you could do something with Halloween here, too, and do a costume party that leads to mistaken identity and accidental kissing! Basically, make 'em kiss, and I will be so happy. :D
