Dear Trick or Treat Author...

Hi there! I am kissoffools, and this is my first time doing the Trick or Treat exchange. I love fic exchanges and Halloween, though, so I am stoked about this one!

I'm requesting fic from 6 different canons - I never know how to prompt for art, so I haven't requested it, though I do love it! Promise I'm excited for all of them, even though the lengths look different - the curse of "or" exchanges, I'm afraid! I'm really excited for tricks or treats in any of my fandoms - please feel free to take any of my prompts in either direction. Whatever inspires you!

If I've been unclear, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me anonymously and I can clear things up for you.

For the record, I have just a few dislikes: noncon/rape, and scat. I'm also not really into crossovers or non-canon character death. Avoid those things, and I'll be thrilled with whatever you come up with!

SCREAM (TV)
Audrey Jensen
I devoured the Scream TV series in a weekend a few weeks ago, and have already watched it through twice! I'm a fan of the original series, and I liked the show a lot as well - I thought it handled the slasher genre pretty well, and I liked a lot of the characters. It's just good, pulpy, Halloween-y fun, you know? I'm dying for fic for the series - especially fic centered around Audrey! I thought she was so interesting - she's darker than the rest of the main characters (well... save for Kieran, of course), and I like her complexities. I like the way she had ties to Piper and the anger that tends to bottle up inside her and fuel her; however, I also like that she's loyal. I like her dynamics with Emma, Brooke, and Noah, so fic involving either of those three as well would be awesome. I'd love any inclusion of any of them! I also really like that the TV show and the movies seem to be separate - I'd rather not have a crossover with the movies. (Oh, and for the record, I will be watching the Halloween special right away - so include canon from it or don't, either way is good with me!)

Here are some prompts, if you are so inclined. There's some stuff for solo Audrey, and then some stuff for Audrey written with Emma, Brooke, or Noah - whatever floats your boat. Feel free to take them in either a trick-y or a treat-y direction - whatever's inspiring you!

+ Pre-series Audrey. She was so angry with Emma that she accidentally summoned a serial killer to their town! What was Audrey like back then? What was her dynamic with Piper when she came to Lakewood? How much did Audrey really know about the Lakewood murders in season one? I have a hard time believing that she didn't even suspect Piper's involvement. What if Audrey had more of a part in season one than we were lead to believe?

+ Audrey with Emma. I ship them so hard, oh man. The fact that Audrey was in love with Emma, and that she brought Piper there partially because of her romantic pain... I eat that up with a spoon. If you wanted to write shipfic for them, I would love that. How are they after season two? Do they get together? Is it really simple and sweet, or does something scary or life-threatening happen that makes Emma realize her feelings are more than platonic? What was Audrey's angst like back then? What was it like for Audrey to realize she'd inadvertently almost caused Emma's death?

+ Audrey with Brooke. I think they're great opposites and you could really have fun with them! The scene with the two of them talking at Brooke's party in the season one finale, where they're kind of flirting, definitely made me want more of them. What if something happened between them at that party, while they were both drinking, before being interrupted by the killer? What if Brooke continues to come to Audrey to help her out of sticky situations, because she knows Audrey's the only one that won't look down on her for her dark side? What if they're sneaking around behind Emma's back, because telling her will be too difficult?

+ Audrey with Noah. I love their friendship, even when they're not being super nice to each other because hey, high school is like that sometimes. Want to write an AU where Bisexual and the Virgin really do fight crime? Go for it! Or you could explore the aftermath of their threeway kiss with Zoe (which, let's be real here, was excellent) - how do Noah's feelings complicate things with their friendship? What if they did decide to experiment? How does Audrey deal with her guilt or feelings of stress after almost losing Noah in season two?

SCREAM (Movies)
Billy Loomis, Stu Macher

Okay, obviously at this point you can see that I'm really into the Scream franchise as a whole - and the movies have been some of my favourites for years! I love how they balance humour, meta, and horror with great characters and realistic murder scenes. I just think they're so smart, you know? I'd love fic for these movies - especially fic involving Billy and/or Stu, from the first film. Both of them really interested me, and the two-killer reveal blew my mind when I first saw it! As you can see, I requested the movies for Yuletide last year, and I'm still dying for that sort of fic! The fact that Billy had a motive for the murders, but Stu never really did, is fascinating to me. I'd love to get into one or both of their psyches to see what was going on behind the scenes of the film - missing scenes, alternate POVs, things like that. If you want to write both and ship them - fucked up serial killers in dark, codependent love - you most certainly have my blessing. I'll devour it. If you want to write just one or the other and dig into their motives and their psyches, I'd love that too. Please just keep the movies and the subsequent TV show separate - I like that they're different canons and would prefer no crossovers!

Here are some prompts, if you'd like them. There's some for each of the boys individually, and then some shippy stuff. These prompts are definitely more trick-y, since the canon really lends itself to it. But if you want to turn them into something a bit less dark, go right ahead.

+ Billy's side of the story. Thanks to the third movie, we know that he was sort of manipulated into the whole thing - though it's pretty clear that he feels he's the one in charge as it's actually happening. He's certainly the one in charge of Stu. So what's that like? Why did he choose the deaths that he did? How did he feel, killing people and terrorizing Sidney? What did he expect to happen if they got away with it and he got to live? Where would he have wound up? Would he have kept killing, or was his taste for murder purely centered around revenge?

+ Stu's motives. I love that Stu's motive was never really given - that there's the possibility that he killed with Billy because he just plain wanted to. I'd love some exploration into his mind as the movie was happening. Why did he do it, really? What drove him to join Billy and murder with him? How did he feel after his first kill? Which ones were his specifically? Was he the one to kill Tatum - his girlfriend - in such a brutal way? Why did he pick her? What would have happened if his and Billy's plan had worked, and they hadn't been discovered? What could have happened for him after the movie?

+ Billy and Stu together. Was Billy manipulating Stu? What was in it for Stu, really? Was he obsessed with Billy? Was there some kind of romantic, dark, codependent connection between them? I'd love to see more into their dynamic and relationship, behind the scenes and between kills. Did they get off on the control and the fear they were causing? What was the beginning of their friendship like and how did they go from there to committing murder together? Basically, if you want to write fucked up serial killers manipulating each other or falling in love, you absolutely have my blessing.

GRACELAND (TV)
Mike Warren, Paul Briggs

I love Graceland! I stumbled across it earlier this year thanks to my newfound and exuberant love for Aaron Tveit, and immediately fell in love with all of the agents living at Graceland. So do feel free to include Charlie, Johnny, Jakes, or Paige if you'd like! Especially the first three. But Mike and Briggs were the two characters that interested me the most - I loved their dynamic, the way they kept secrets from each other and never really trusted each other while at the same time having each other's back and caring for each other in a bit of a messed-up way. I'm really into the way the two of them work together, and how they somehow manage to both help and hinder each other at different times. I ship them like crazy, so if you want to write shipfic - getting together or romantic angst or filthy porn - you are absolutely, totally welcome. Basically, I'd just really like to see little moments from one or both of them that maybe fills in some gaps or stolen moments from the show. Or you could go really crazy with it - what if one of their cases looks like it involves something supernatural, like vampires?

Here are some prompts, if they're helpful. Some solo for each guy, and then some together. Feel free to take them in a trick-y or a treat-y direction - whatever works for you!

+ Mike's struggles. I thought his near-death experience and his addiction storyline in season three was really interesting, and you're more than welcome to go into that more. How did that downward spiral feel for him? What was life like once he broke the addiction? Did he see things differently? What about the little things - he struggled with having to lie about his life when he first came to Graceland. How did he become more comfortable with that? What sort of things did he have to cut out of his life or leave behind?

+ Briggs' web of lies. I read an episode description while watching the show for the first time that simply said, "Briggs causes complications for his fellow housemates", and if that doesn't sum up Paul Briggs' whole damn character, than I don't know what does! He's so complicated and I love the way he continues to try and spin and dodge to keep everything afloat. I especially liked the Odin reveal, and him trying to keep his identity hidden from the other agents. If you wanted to write more of them trying to track Odin down while Briggs tries to keep them from discovering his secret, I'd love that. Or you could go into his past - the stuff about the fire and his lost love. What was it like for him to build his life back up again to become the Briggs we see at the start of season one?

+ Mike and Briggs together. Get them together, give them angst, hook them up, put them in life-threatening situations where one has to save the other - I'm on board with all of them! How did Briggs cope with Mike almost dying? How would Mike handle Briggs' lies and betrayal if he was in love with him? I also requested Mike/Briggs for SmutSwap this year, so if you're in the mood for filthy porn, you're more than welcome to delve into anything I mentioned there. Basically, Mike/Briggs. I love it. I want it, however you want to write it!

UNREAL (TV)
Rachel Goldberg, Quinn King

I don't know how to describe UnREAL as anything other than "delicious". It's so wonderfully dramatic, so soapy, with characters that can be so evil and yet likeable at the same time. I've watched both seasons - actually, I devoured both seasons. I work in television, and love how accurate the show is about set life and the way reality content can be manipulated to create drama and get ratings. So please, feel free to include more of the on set drama! I love how twisted Rachel and Quinn's relationship is - how they have a loyalty to one another and yet don't hesitate to scheme and plan things behind the other's back for their own personal gain. I especially like it when they decide to be allies and scheme together! More of them working together and scheming would be wonderful, if you're so inclined. Rachel and Quinn vs the world is a big thing for me. You're more than welcome to throw a horror or Halloween twist to things - maybe they do an episode of Everlasting that has scary elements, or takes place over Halloween?

Here are some prompts, if they interest you. Separate and together - and yes, shipping is more than welcome if you're so inclined! Feel free to take the prompts in either trick-y or treat-y ways. Whatever works!

+ Rachel. If you'd like to explore how the show influences, alters, and affects her mood and mental struggles, you're more than welcome. What if she had another breakdown - how would she deal with it? Who would she turn to? Alternately, how did she climb the ladder to become Quinn's favourite? How did she learn to do her job well?

+ Quinn. I'd love to hear about Quinn's rise to success - how she went from the little PA that was seduced by Chet to the powerful dragon lady we know and love. What drove her? When did she get the taste for the business? What happened in Quinn's past that helped her become who she is now?

+ Rachel and Quinn together. Codependency, loyalty, scheming, plotting against others or against each other... I love all of it. Tell me about a time that Rachel screwed over Quinn, or a time that Quinn screwed over Rachel. Tell me how it strengthened their bond. Tell me what Quinn sees in Rachel or what attracts Rachel to Quinn. What if another death happens on the Everlasting set? What if one of them gets into a life-threatening situation on set? How does the other deal with it? Or if you want to go really tongue-in-cheek and go with a Halloween-themed Everlasting that Quinn and Rachel are both dreading producing, I'd love that too!

BOY MEETS WORLD
Eric Matthews, Jack Hunter

Boy Meets World was a big favourite of mine growing up! I love all of the characters so much. I really do think this is one of the shows that shaped me into who I am today - media like that is so special. I'd love more about Eric and/or Jack - being roommates, getting through school together, graduating and handling the real world. Also, my favourite episode of Boy Meets World is, "And Then There Was Shawn" - it's a classic and beloved for a reason! I loved the mix of humour and some genuinely spooky, creepy stuff. If you want to write something in the vein of that episode, with a similar tone, I would absolutely love that!! I'd like the focus to be on Eric and/or Jack, but the other characters are more than welcome to be included. And I definitely ship them, so if you'd like to work in some romance, pining, or smut, I'd be completely on board! (Don't worry about Girl Meets World canon - I've seen bits of the show, but you're more than welcome to include or disregard whatever you like from it.)

Here are some prompts, if you'd like them. Some for Eric, some for Jack, and some for both. Take them in either a trick-y or a treat-y direction - whatever inspires you!

+ Eric. I'd love to see the world through Eric's eyes - I love how he's somehow both incredibly clueless and extremely perceptive. I'd love to watch him grow up and hit some life milestones, like graduation, his first home, a proposal, his wedding. Or I'd love to see Jack through Eric's eyes - how Eric changes from disliking him initially to coming around on him to becoming his best friend.

+ Jack. You could write about Jack's arrival at college - his challenges to adjust to a new home, new city, new school and new brother. I'd love to see him dealing with some sort of crisis. Maybe he's run out of money and something's happened that his stepfather can't send him more, and he's on his own and learning to support himself for the first time? Or you could do the reverse of what I suggested above - seeing Eric through Jack's eyes. How Eric changes Jack into a better person.

+ Eric and Jack, together. What if they're trapped in an elevator together for a whole day? What if they're snowed in somewhere? What if their fight over Rachel winds up being more about each other than anything else? What if one of them is in love and pining and the other just doesn't seem to get any of the hints that get dropped? What if one of them is in danger, and the other has to rescue him?

THE NICE GUYS (2016)
Holland March

I watched this movie recently and was really charmed! It was so funny and interesting, and I liked the story a lot. I just loved the two private eyes who don't really like each other coming together to achieve the same goal. It's like a variation on the buddy cop movie! And I loved the 1970s setting, too. I'd love to see what happens after the movie for Holland March. And I loved his relationship with his daughter - how honest he was with her while at the same time trying to protect her. Fic about the two of them would be awesome. And of course, there's Jackson Healy - their dynamic was hilarious and I'm all for more of that, too! Basically, post-movie fic that feels similar to the style and dynamic of the movie would be lovely. Want to put them in more danger? Go for it. Want to set the fic at Halloween and put them on a Halloween-themed case? I'd love that. Run with it!

Here are some prompts, if that will help you at all. Some for just Holland, and then some for him and his daughter and him and Healy as well. I'd love any of that. Go trick-y or treat-y, however you'd like!

+ March, post-movie. What happens to him after the movie is over? What other sorts of cases does he work on? Who else hires him? Or, alternately, how did he get into this business? What was he like when he was younger, before their place burned down and when he was still married?

+ March and his daughter, Holly. She is just the greatest, and I'd love to see more of him raising her. What if he takes her out and teaches her parts of the business? How to take photos from far away, how to shoot a gun, how to lie convincingly, how to break into places and not get your hand cut. Or maybe he takes her out on a case when she's a little older and she teaches him something that he never would have thought would come in handy!

+ March and Healy. More of their dynamic! More banter and teasing while solving a case together! What if someone goes missing on Halloween and they have to track them down? Or someone in a Halloween costume robs a restaurant, or something, and they have to figure out who was under the mask? Or if you want to go shippy with them, and have them fall in love or just hook up during cases, I'm all for it. Or maybe they think it's just hooking up, relieving tension during night surveillance, when one of them realizes it's more?
